Milton Keynes Theatre reveals summer 2022 season

Milton Keynes Theatre have revealed the long list of plays, stage shows, one night events and more that will be playing this year.

Les Misérables – Tue 26 Apr – Sat 21 May

Returning by popular demand following a sell-out run, Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg’s musical Les Misérables returns to Milton Keynes Theatre in 2022.

This brilliant new staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed ‘Les Mis for the 21st Century’. With scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo, the magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs I Dreamed a Dream, On My Own, Bring Him Home, One Day More, Master Of The House and many more. Seen by over 120 million people worldwide in 52 countries and in 22 languages, Les Misérables is undisputedly one of the world’s most popular musicals.

Northern Ballet: The Great Gatsby – Tue 24 – Sat 28 May

You are invited to the most glamorous party in town, where the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby has a penchant for lavish parties and beautiful women. But as the sparkling façade of his world begins to slip, the loneliness, obsession and tragedy that lies beneath is revealed in one of Northern Ballet’s most treasured productions.

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic American novel is brought to life as dancers glide across the floor in gorgeous Chanel-inspired costumes to a cinematic score by Sir Richard Rodney Bennett CBE (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Murder on the Orient Express).

CLUEDO – Mon 30 May – Sat 4 Jun

Based on the classic detective board game loved by generations and the hit 1985 film CLUE, the brand-new stage play of CLUEDO is coming to Milton Keynes Theatre this spring. This UK premier production is directed by Mark Bell, director of the award winning The Play That Goes Wrong and A Comedy About A Bank Robbery and just like the game, it promises audiences of all ages a nostalgic, fun and thrilling evening of entertainment.

Was it Miss Scarlet, with the revolver in the dining room, or was it Professor Plum, with the lead pipe in the library?…

Starring Michelle Collins as Miss Scarlett, CLUEDO is an exciting, comedy thriller based on the hit 1985 film CLUE and the classic board game loved by generations.

When Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Mrs Peacock, Reverend Green, Mrs. White and Colonel Mustard arrive at a country house one dark and stormy evening, they are surprised to find they have all received the same intriguing invitation from Lord Boddy. It soon becomes clear that they all have something to hide as the mystery and hysteria grows and the inhabitants and guests of Boddy Manor are killed off one by one, with a variety of familiar weapons, leaving everyone to wonder, who will be next!

MK Chorale – Crowning Glory – Sun 5 Jun

Enjoy the splendour of Handel’s coronation anthem Zadok the Priest, the emotion of Elgar’s Nimrod, and the rousing spirit of Pomp and Circumstance No 1. Experience some of the magnificent music heard by the Queen as she was crowned: William Walton’s Coronation Te Deum, and his march Crown Imperial, first performed at her father’s coronation. The concert culminates in a new arrangement of the National Anthem.
