Tamsin ready to fly in grand finals of prestigious UK beauty pageant

Local mum Tamsin Forsey is chosen to represent Milton Keynes at the Miss Pageant Queen UK grand finals in Cheshire this September.

A local mum has been selected to represent Milton Keynes in the Miss Pageant Queen UK grand finals, writes Jon Boyle.

Tamsin Forsey will battle it out with a host of women from across the UK in the finals at the prestigious Wychwood Park Hotel in Cheshire this September

The 32-year-old – who was named Miss MK in 2015 and Miss Bucks Beauty in 2016 – will compete in the over 29s category for the chance to be crowned Ms Pageant Queen UK on the night.

Tamsin, who has a 12-year-old son called Charlie (pictured with her, above right), revealed that the pageant has an extra special meaning to her.

“Part of the reason I chose to enter Miss Pageant Queen UK is because they are raising money for the Epilepsy Action and MIND charities, both of which are close to my heart,” she explained.

“Mental health has hugely impacted me throughout my life as I’m epileptic and I suffer with depression and anxiety.

“I have always been an advocate of empowering women too – this is something I feel very strongly about.

“I used to struggle with my own body image post partum – the bit that nobody quite prepares you for with childbirth – so I decided to start entering pageants back in 2015.

“I have met so many wonderful women at pageants who all come with their own inspiring stories.

“This time I will be in the Ms category as I’m that bit older, so I’m super excited but a little nervous too!”

Tamsin works as a primary school teaching assistant, where she teaches children important values such as empathy, honesty and respect.

And she is now keen to take on some extra work within the local community as part of her pageantry role.

Tamsin said: “Some people think pageantry is all glitz and glamour but there is a lot of hard work that goes into it in the run up. Part of our role is to try and get involved with the community, so this year I am looking for local businesses, community projects and charities that I can work with.”
