Ginger Mum Column: Mouthwatering cuisine at the new Namji

Our resident lifestyle blogger Amanda, aka Ginger Mum, talks about the launch night of the hot new Xscape restaurant and much more…

Hey my lovelies! Food glorious food!

I feel the wave of excitement in the MK food sector at the moment, as we are all free to enjoy one of the greatest pleasures, dining out with friends and family once more.

Although sadly some fantastic eateries fell victim to the pandemic, it’s heartening to watch those who have been able to diversify and expand as a result.

One standout for me is the lovely Naseem of Namji, who has shaken up Xscape with her latest restaurant, in the old La Tasca location, showcasing the best of modern and traditional Indian cuisine.

We attended a super fun launch night there recently and were treated to mouthwatering cuisine, not least the culinary centrepiece, Thali.

For me it’s a fusion of art and food, each dish as pleasing to the eye as to the palette.

A BYOB (bring your own bottle) venue, it’s a great family vibe there and the mocktails are a real delight.

Do put it on your to-visit list and let me know how you enjoyed it!

Keeping with the culinary theme, I recently discovered MK Cookery School, my passport to perfecting those dishes I like most.

It is also my top pick for a Christmas gift this year as they do gift vouchers – what a result!

I am most looking forward to the upcoming Thai day course but they cover every cuisine.

Who could resist a fast track to fab Med/Indian/Fish dishes to dazzle your friends and family? Half day or full day, they have it all covered!

This year, I’m not sure if the masses will lean in to those huge party venues.

For me and my friends, I feel like we will go for an intimate night making memories.

Don’t forget, we are such a short (boozy?) train ride into London or nearer to home in one of the three counties, we are really spoilt!

I’d be much happier with a meal locally and cocktails at one of our amazing options like Blossom Room or
Be At One MK and let’s not forget the MK Food Awards on Nov 7th which is always an epic night and great recommendations!

Please support by voting for your faves!

See you soon for some exciting Christmas sparkle!
