With Milton Keynes Theatre officially back open, Cara Lee previews the first shows to be performed on the stage there and at The Stables.
In the last column I said that there had been big updates – and this time I’m coming at you with even bigger news!
MK Theatre have officially confirmed a reopening date on the 25th of July, so if all goes to plan, performances should be back on there at the time of publication!
The first show back will be Jane McDonald, playing her much anticipated Let the Light In tour on the 25th.
Plus, for all you musical fans, the first major tour in MK since last March will be the Rocky Horror Show. This cult classic will be time warping to MK from Monday 2nd of August, starring TV presenter and Strictly winner Ore Oduba as Brad.
Based on the 1975 film of the same name, the show follows a young couple named Brad and Janet on an experience they’ll never forget at a house that’s not what it seems…
Those aren’t the only highlights of the next few months. First of all there’s Looking Good Dead, starring Adam Woodyatt, followed by Grease, with Peter Andre as Vince Fontaine and Teen Angel.
Then the kookiest family around will also be making a return to MK in the Addams Family, with Samantha Womack and Cameron Blakely as Morticia and Gomez!
Those shows will be on from the 17th to the 21st of August, the 23rd to the 28th of August and the 31st of August to the 4th of September.
The Stables also has a lot on the schedule for August and September!
They’ll be starting off the month with the stage version of Zog. Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s classic children’s book features a plucky little dragon who duels with a knight.
The show is made by Freckle Productions, the same people who brought Stick Man and Tabby McTat to life.
In September the Pasadena Roof Orchestra will also be performing, having been rescheduled from the 24th of June.
Specifically, they’ll be at The Stables on Wednesday the 8th of September.
