MK Theatre extend closure as pantomime featuring Diversity rescheduled

Milton Keynes Theatre has confirmed an extension to their venue’s closure and the rescheduling of the Christmas pantomime featuring Diversity.

The venue has been closed since March and had been due to be closed until October, but the venue operators Ambassador Theatre Group have now announced the venue will be closed until November 27th.

In a statement on social media, the venue said, “Thank you to everyone for their ongoing support of our wonderful venue. We are working hard with ATG, our fellow venues, partners in government and industry, and we cannot wait to re-open our doors and bring you the shows you love.

“At this stage, we can confirm that all performances at Ambassador Theatre Group venues have been suspended until Friday November 27. If this new suspension affects your booking, you do not need to do anything and we will e-mail you an update over the coming weeks.”

As part of the update, the venue also confirmed the 2020-21 Christmas pantomime has been rescheduled to 2021-22. The production of Jack and the Beanstalk had been due to star acclaimed dance troupe Diversity, with the troupe’s leader Ashley Banjo featuring as a headline star on the poster.

The statement regarding this production said, “We can confirm our 2020 Pantomime Jack & The Beanstalk is moving to Christmas 2021/22. While this is sad news, we are so delighted that the show and its stars Ashley Banjo & Diversity will return next year!

“We will be contacting all customers directly as we move your tickets to the corresponding 2021/22 rescheduled performance and appreciate your patience as we manage a huge amount of orders and enquiries. All together now… Pantomime will be back!

“Thank you to everyone who continues to support us as we work tirelessly towards re-opening our beautiful theatre and bringing you the shows you love.”
