We’ve all done it… set New Year’s resolutions that we don’t see through.
We begin with the best of intentions, but at this cold, dark time of the year, it’s easy to think about giving up.
However, the average amount of time it takes for goals to become a way of life is 66 days – so the good news is that you’re already half way through!
Consistency is key. If you set out to exercise every day, you’ll inevitably miss the occasional day – luckily, this won’t have long-term consequences but if you miss larger amounts of time, you’ll easily slip out of routine which will set you back to where you started.
If you’re on the tipping point of derailing new health goals, or you set out to take up a new fitness regime and didn’t quite make it happen, don’t feel guilty. Instead, use this new month as a second chance to re-focus on your wellbeing goals.
If your goals were too ambitious, perhaps take smaller steps in February to create the changes you wish to see in your life. It can be as simple as taking a new class once or twice a week to achieve a new healthy habit.
