Cara Lee previews the best theatre shows in Milton Keynes in January.
It’s going to be a packed month for theatre-goers in MK, as 2020 kicks off with a bang (and a little bit of leftover Christmas magic).
The first major show on at MK Theatre post-panto will be an enchanting adaptation of Raymond Briggs’ beloved story, The Snowman, which has been thrilling audiences worldwide for 20 years.
The Snowman will be flying into MK Theatre from Wednesday 15th January to Sunday 19th January.
Going in a darker direction (and back in time to the 1910s), the darkest secrets of the upper-class Birling family will be exposed by a mysterious stranger in thriller An Inspector Calls, from Tuesday 21st to Saturday 25th January.
Sticking with the vintage theme but going into a different era, Simply Swing will be taking audiences at Stantonbury Theatre on a journey through the history of the iconic genre.
The show will feature the music of Cab Calloway, Frank Sinatra and more. It’ll be on at Stantonbury Theatre on Saturday 18th January.
It’ll also be a great month for comedy at The Stables, as the ever popular Screaming Blue Murder Comedy Club returns on Wednesday 22nd, whilst Irish comedy legend Ed Byrne will also be taking to the stage on Tuesday 21st.
