Nancy Stevens previews Dolly’s 9-5 all-star musical and The Joke is on Shane Richie in The Entertainer…
Shane Ritchie assumes the role of a lifetime as Archie Rice, a washed up song and dance man in THE ENTERTAINER at Milton Keynes Theatre 2-7 September. It’s 1982 and comedy tastes have changed forever.
Gone are the sexist, racist jokes that are at the core of Archie’s act as a new breed of alternative comedians make their names in Soho’s ‘The Comedy Store’. Archie’s soldier son is off to The Falklands and his daughter is campaigning against the very same war.
Archie’s professional and personal lives are about to implode with devastating consequences. Appearing alongside Shane as Archie’s neglected wife, Phoebe is Sara Crowe, of Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Diana Vickers, X Factor finalist, as his idealistic daughter, Jean.
Then an all-star cast comes directly from the West End to Milton Keynes Theatre in Dolly Parton’s smash-hit 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL on 24 – 28 September.
Starring singer and Strictly star Louise Redknapp as Violet, Love Island winner Amber Davies as Judy, proving her musical theatre mettle, and West End superstar and MK Theatre panto favourite Brian Conley, who is appearing exclusively at MKT as the misogynistic, Franklin Hart.
I’ll be broadcasting a 9-5 special on Stevens on Sunday in September.
9 TO 5 The Musical tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy – three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss. Concocting a plan to kidnap and turn the tables on their despicable supervisor, will the women manage to reform their office – or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit?
Inspired by the cult film, this hilarious new West End production is about teaming up, standing up and taking care of business!
