centre:mk’s PR & Digital Marketing Manager Chantal-Lawren Welch helps you pack your beach bag fashion essentials with items under £35 – just in time following the return of their giant indoor beach until September.
Whether you’re jetting off to exotic shores or planning a staycation, I’ve combed the best of our beach-ready ranges to bring you the hottest items to pop in your beach bag this summer.
First up – an inexpensive pair of sunglasses. Save your flashy frames for on-shore adventures… with seawater and sand to contend with, a cheap-yet-chic pair such as these turquoise tortoise shell ones from Flying Tiger are perfect to sling in your bag at just £4.
A beach shirt is something I never leave for the shore without. Giving you extra coverage if you don’t want to bare all, it’s also handy if the temperature suddenly drops.
The lightweight fabric means it dries quickly if you do get it wet & sandy, which is an added bonus! £10 – Primark.
Vinyl bags are brilliant for the beach and how cute is this one from Accessorize at £35? The outside is transparent so you can easily locate your sunscreen and shades whilst the inner is opaque, perfect for popping your dry undies in when you want to change out of your swimwear postbeach!
Statement earrings can instantly take any outfit from basic to luxe in a matter of seconds. These gold shell hoops from Next are the perfect example, they’ll add a bohemian edge to wavy beach hair or a messy bun when you want to pop to the bar for a Pina Colada!
A bright pair of sliders just scream ‘summer’ and I’m loving these chunky ones from River Island at £28. The pink and orange tone helps even the palest of legs look tanned and they’re waterproof and super comfy too.
Lastly if you want a miracle spray that cools you down, relieves you from itchy salt water skin and even soothes sunburn then look no further than the Avene Thermal Spring Water spray at Boots (£8.50). I pop this in the fridge
overnight and keep in my beach bag, or handbag on long haul flights, as it always come in handy.
And if you are ‘staycating’ this summer then don’t forget to visit out giant indoor beach in Middleton Hall from 20th July to 1st September.
100 tonnes of sand is brought to life by Great British beach classics including Punch & Judy shows, rides and even a rollercoaster, which means hours of fun for the kids!
