The Dutch Hospital – intu Milton Keynes’ new interiors store – has expanded after just two months, thanks to its soaring popularity in Milton Keynes! Its success in its new home also means that The Dutch Hospital will stay put for at least a year.
The business, which offers a curated collection of homeware and gifts sourced from all around the world, is thriving in its new home opposite Hollister – and has just increased its floor space by 75%!
Anjali Wanigasuriya set up The Dutch Hospital as an online business in 2014 but has never had a shop until now. She said: “It’s been going so well, we’ve had such a great response! We didn’t expect it to be this good – if we’d have known, we’d have opened a shop sooner. We can already see the progress month by month and so have signed to stay at intu Milton Keynes for another year. We also hope to continue after that.”
The Dutch Hospital – which gets its name from the historic Old Dutch Hospital building in Sri Lanka where Anjali is from – specialises in luxurious and timeless home, wedding and giftware. It has become a firm favourite in Milton Keynes over the last two months.
Shelley Peppard, general manager at intu Milton Keynes, said: “It’s brilliant to see that The Dutch Hospital is thriving here! The purpose-built unit looks great and has become a real talking point for shoppers, as has the fantastic collection of products inside. We wish them every success and a bright future here at intu Milton Keynes.”
Anjali, who has a Master’s Degree in Fashion Business Management from the University of Westminster, added: “Our products are selling quickly and I’m having to replenish stock fast! Although some days are quiet, the weekends more than make up for it. People love that we are an independent brand.”
