Food Events Column: Fancy a Food Truck Friday feeling?

Hazel Roberts talks us through the numerous food events including street food and festivals taking place in MK and surrounding areas this July…

There are plenty of food and drink events to enjoy as we head into July and then on into the summer holidays, so grab some friends and go out for some foodie fun.

The street food events this month start with Eat Street at York House in Stony Stratford on 5th July, starting at 5pm as usual.

The Kings Feast at the Kings Arms in Newport Pagnell is on 7th July to coincide with the Carnival weekend.

The MK Biergarten are hosting two Street Food Friday events in July, with Bokkie serving up South African food on 12th July and Taco Shack serving Mexican cuisine on 26th July.

The Sunday Streetfood Sessions will be on the afternoon of 14th July at Milton Keynes Pavilion with the usual selection of hot food, live music and kids’ activities.

Food Truck Friday is back in Newport Pagnell on 19th July and on 26th July Tattenhoe Foodie are holding their summer event at the Tattenhoe Sports Pavilion.

Rounding off the street food events for July is Street Food Heaven at MK11 on 28th July, where you can enjoy tasty food alongside music and live sport on their multitude of screens.

It is worth heading over to Waddesdon Manor, Buckingham on 6th July to visit their Summer Fest. Take a picnic or try some of the hot food on offer.

There will be street theatre, live music, art performances and a shopping village of stalls to browse.

Closer to home, the Milton Keynes Sausage and Cider Festival is back on 6th July at the Emerson Valley Sport Pavilion. Running from noon until 10pm, this is your chance to sample some of the 30 or more artisan ciders as well as a variety of sausage-themed dishes from the hot food vendors.

Another event worth venturing out of Milton Keynes for is Taste – Bedford. This food festival, held on 13th July in an attractive riverside setting, will bring you live music, cookery demonstrations and children’s entertainment in addition to the great line up of street food vendors and artisan market stalls.

On a relaxing note, The Parks Trust are hosting World Picnic MK at Campbell Park on 28th July to celebrate world culture. Bring a rug and a picnic or pick up refreshment from the stalls provided.
