Shockwave therapy is a clinically proven and highly effective treatment for chronic tissue injuries and certain bone conditions.
A high energy electrical sound wave passes through the body via a hand held probe. Shockwave Therapy delivers a radial shockwave through the surface of the skin to the injured tissue.
This shockwave initiates an inflammation-like response in the injured tissue and accelerates the healing process by regenerating blood vessels as it produces a rapid increase in blood circulation to the targeted area, breaking down any fibrous scar tissue which builds up over time, especially with chronic conditions.
Now patients that have been suffering for years with chronic pain may be successfully treated by Isis’s highly qualified Chiropractors with Shockwave Therapy using the latest high tech non surgical equipment.
The correct title of the therapy is Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy – extracorporeal, meaning treatment outside of the body.
It also provides pain relief for the patient. Shockwave Therapy is a treatment which the NHS carry out at certain hospitals around the country, but waiting lists are very long and it is dependent on which part of the country you are living as to whether this treatment is available to you.
At Isis Chiropractic, the Chiropractors are qualified to carry out Shockwave Therapy and at an affordable cost compared to other Private Medical Hospitals and Clinics in the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire areas.
Some Medical Insurance Policies cover Shockwave Therapy so check with your Insurance Company. You may be covered!
