The MK branch of the Extinction Rebellion climate change movement, or XRMK, have held a music event at the city’s famous Concrete Cows.
Ahead of the group’s plans for hosting further events in the summer, the group held a music event in Bancroft near the city’s Concrete Cows landmarks over the recent May Bank Holiday Monday. Local artists such as Rob Bray and The Inside Job were among the performers.
The XRMK group also issued leaflets and invited local residents to a picnic with music that could provide them the opportunity to find about the climate emergency, and what actions individuals can take to help out.
The event was well attended by many families and children throughout the day, while a lot of interest was also shown in proceedings from people jogging and dog walking, who all wanted to come and join in and find out about XRMK.
In January, MK Council declared a climate emergency and as part of the city’s Sustainability Strategy, have aimed to be a world leading city in sustainability that strives to be carbon neutral by 2030, while also creating a sustainable economy and growth model.
