MK Dons manager Paul Tisdale is plotting an assault on League 1 next season after guiding the club to promotion from League 2 at the first attempt.
The Dons won a nail-biting promotion-decider against Mansfield 1-0 on the last day of the season at Stadium MK to secure the third and final automatic promotion place in League 2.
But there has been no time for sentiment from the former Exeter City boss – who has already released the likes of the hugely popular Ouss Cisse and Brandon Thomas-Asante – as he gets to work on strengthening his squad for 2019-20.
Paul said: “I’m so proud of the players for what they have achieved this year, I love them to death and I’m so pleased for them.
“It was some sort of redemption and it was great to see Stadium MK packed and celebrating.
“But as pleased as we were with ourselves, we now have to get ready for what will be a very important summer.
“We’re into that period when it can become a bit of a circus.
“You’ve got to be in the hunt for players, in the contest, but the window closes in August so it shows how long this goes on for.
“I need a certain type of signing that will give us the depth to give the team fluid, dynamic performances more often, but I have to be careful not to change too much.”
MK Dons’ fixtures for the new 2019-20 Sky Bet League 1 season will be released at 9am on Thursday June 20.
