Ray Brown Tree Care pair giving back to charity after father’s death.
A grieving local couple are set to run the Milton Keynes Half Marathon this month to raise money for the Milton Keynes Hospital Charity’s Cancer Centre Appeal.
Novice runners Ray and Suzanne, from Ray Brown Tree Care, will take part in the 13.1 mile Bank Holiday Monday event on May 6 along with four other members of their family after Suzanne’s father passed away last year following a cancer battle.
Suzanne is an ambassador for the charity and has set her sights on raising as much money as possible for this worthy cause.
She said: “Ray and I always like to try and help with charities and give back to the local community.
“This is a massive challenge for us as we aren’t runners in any shape or form, but we have been training hard and are determined to run the 13.1 miles and raise lots of money for the Cancer Centre at Milton Keynes Hospital.
“A cancer centre like the one being built in MK would have really benefitted my dad and our family, along with the thousands of other cancer patients who have suffered over the years.
“The centre allows people to be treated closer to home, which alleviates the stress of travelling for treatment.”
