MK Gallery has not only been earning rave reviews for its exhibits, but for its food too. Celebrate:MK’s Jon Boyle went along for lunch to try it out.
The new-look MK Gallery has caught the imagination of the Milton Keynes public since it re-opened in March, but it is the food in its cafe that is a real work of art.
I popped in for a business lunch at the central MK venue with Joe Connolly, managing director of Thomas Connolly Estate Agents, having heard that the new cafe was well worth checking out.
But I wasn’t prepared for the exquisite culinary experience that followed, as the food was nothing short of spectacular.
I ordered the Bavette steak with salsa verde and skinny fries, while Joe opted for the Sumac crusted salmon with sauce vierge, brassicas and almonds.
My steak was succulent, cooked medium-rare to perfection and presented expertly in thinly-cut slices, with lovely seasoning. In fact, it looked so good that I failed to prevent Joe from sneaking a slice onto his fork before I was able to take this photo!
But I got my revenge by pinching a bit of his salmon, which was equally delicious!
Entrance to the cafe is free and the food is some of the best locally, with salads, savoury tarts, sandwiches and desserts, plus coffee, wine and even craft beer on the menu too. See you in there!
