The Lions Club of Bletchley and the five choirs of Rock Chorus joined forces for their 9th annual concert at The Venue MK.
This year’s event was held on April 27th in aid of Playlist for Life, a UK music and dementia charity, as well as other Lions Charites. Over 100 singers took to the stage as part of the performance, alongside soloist India Foskett, and leader and singing coach Lauren Field.
The concerts raised over £4,000 for their charities, while a supplementary raffle raised £507 as the show provided entertainment for 300 people.
Lion Mike Bartlett said the concert was hugely enjoyable for everyone involved. He said, “Lauren and the singers in Rock Chorus work extremely hard to make this concert a success and the Lions, and the charities we support, are very grateful for their efforts.”
The main charity was Playlist For Life, a UK music and dementia charity. The charity uses the music of a person’s life to keep them connected to themselves and their loved ones.
The charity’s support helps to provide information, tools and training people need to build their playlist and listen to it in the most effective way to help support dementia sufferers.
As well as this, the charity can provide Tools for individuals and families to use, Help Points in local communities and Training for health and care professionals.
The concert was the ninth to be run by the Lions Club of Bletchley. The Lions Charity is used to support individuals and organizations identified as being in need, in line with the Lions motto ‘Where there’s a need there’s a Lion’.
