MKBAA Entrepreneur of the Year Matt Bowler is looking for young school and college leavers to join his apprenticeship scheme with Milton Keynes Scaffolding Specialists.
Bowler and his company are taking part in a scheme run in conjunction with the National Construction College, which is designed to fast track new apprentices into fully fledged scaffolders.
When talking about the scheme, Matt said, “We’re looking for enthusiasm and willingness.”
“Our scaffolding apprentices get to learn on the job, earn sone of the highest wages in construction and at the end of two years are fully qualified.”
Matt’s track record saw him start out as a scaffolder at the age of 15 and sees him now run the only NASC accredited scaffolding firm in Milton Keynes.
The apprenticeship scheme fast tracks new apprentices to become fully fledged scaffolders in just two years.
Corey Robertson, an 18-year-old participant in the scheme from New Bradwell, has been with the firm almost two years.
He spoke of his enthusiasm for the program. He said, “scaffolding keeps you busy and keeps you fit and what I like about MK Scaffolding is that they do everything well, they’re specialists, so you learn from the best.”
Corey is set to sit his final exam, the Part 2 CISRS later this year, which will set him up as fully-fledged scaffolder.
