A sensational new book has been written about iconic American singer/songwriter Billy Joel by local Milton Keynes-based author Jon Brett.
Billy Joel: Tales of An Innocent Fan brings together a unique collection of exclusive interviews and stories from people whose lives have been touched or affected by the Grammy Award winning superstar.
Through a series of encounters – including with Billy himself – Jon speaks to musicians and fans on both sides of the Atlantic who paint a unique picture of the Uptown Girl singer.
Billy Joel: Tales of An Innocent Fan not only features never before published photographs of Billy, but also includes all new contributions from band members past and present who speak frankly about life on the road with one of the most popular and iconic American performers of all time.
Jon, who started his career in journalism at the Milton Keynes Citizen and has worked for The Sun, says: “Billy is a global performer who has sold close to 200 million records around the world.
“He turns 70 next month, and is playing a rare concert at Wembley Stadium in June which demonstrates his continued popularity, particularly here in the UK.
“I spent two years researching the book, talking and interviewing those closest to him, plus former band members who have never talked about their life with Billy before.
“The book is full of exclusive stories and photos, many told for the first time.”
