Ex-BBC entertainment writer Sarah Bygrave has picked out a top comedian, a tribute band festival and a live podcast for this month…
Wow, what a jam packed few months we have had so far this year. I’ve been busy enjoying all the weird and wonderful things MK has to offer and I hope you have been doing the same!
With that in mind, here are my favourite finds to get you out and about in April.
Comedian and TV star Lucy Porter is heading to The Stables on the 4th with her brand new stand-up show Pass It On.
You’ll know Lucy from Live at The Apollo and The Now Show, so prepare for hilarious insights into life past and present and bold ideas about what the future holds for us all. You can get hold of your tickets from http://www.stables.org.
Ross Sutherland is bringing his award-winning podcast ‘Imaginary Advice’ to MK Gallery for a special live edition on the 11th.
The popular podcast showcases a range of different forms of storytelling including poetry, music and creative writing – with a selection of brand new stories, both true and imaginary, on offer for you to enjoy on the night.
For more information and to book tickets, head to mkgallery.org or search for Imaginary Advice online to listen to previous episodes. #
If you are looking for something a bit more exciting than just chocolate eggs this Easter, MK11 are hosting their Faux Fest 2019 – Beer & Tribute Band Festival across the weekend of the 19th.
Enjoy a trip down musical memory lane with the best tribute acts around – including Oasis, Blink 182 and Blur – along with a wood smoked BBQ and a huge selection of ciders, ales and craft beer. What’s not to love?
Get a few mates together and I’ll see you there! Or if you just want to celebrate the Bank Holiday with friends and family, why not head out and support your local pub by treating yourself to some relaxing drinks over the long weekend. Enjoy!
