Hair cut from Grand Master Barber smartens up Celebrate:MK editor
Have you ever had your hair cut by a Grand Master Barber?
Unless you are one of Tony Roberts’ regular customers at Just Gents, I doubt you have, as he is one of only around a dozen left in the whole of Europe.
I was lucky enough to receive a hair cut and beard shape-up from the local legend himself at his traditional centre:mk shop, which was the first barbers to open in Central Milton Keynes 35 years ago.
Tony certainly had his work cut out with my hair as the hectic festive and New Year period had left me looking like I had been dragged through a hedge backwards.
But the 73-year-old craftsman, who unfortunately has terminal cancer, worked his magic by giving me a fresh, smart new look that has put an instant end to my recent fear of mirrors.
Not only was this the first hair cut I had received from a Grand Master Barber, but it was the first time I had received a full scissor cut – without the need for hair clippers – and the first time I’ve let someone else shave my beard!
I loved it. Tony has trained all of the staff at Just Gents with his traditional methods so, whoever you get, you are guaranteed a grand job.
