centre:mk’s PR & Digital Marketing Manager Chantal-Lawren Welch reveals the exciting trends from Fashion Week and how the high street has taken them on to the next level…
Acid Wash Denim was out in abundance at Fashion Week for spring/summer, with the likes of Christian Dior featuring this 80s trend. Want a piece of the action?
Opt for a dip-dyed shirt; such as this one from TK Maxx and pair it with yet more acid wash (I’m loving these high-waisted jeans from River Island).
For a complete runway look, simply pull on some over the knee beige boots and Perspex bangles!
If you’re going to invest in one go-to piece for this season, then make it a Boiler Suit. There are some fab ones hitting stores this spring.
My favourites? The dark denim number from Fat Face and indigo blue zipper jumpsuit from M&S (£55). Pair with white ankle boots and you’re good to go.
Cycle Shorts – with an oversized blazer… yes you read that right. Reminiscent of the early 90s, this trend is back and it’s going to be big!
Anyone with an active Instagram account will know that this pairing has been simmering in street fashion for a while now, but having made its way onto the catwalks, we don’t doubt that the rest of us will be rocking the look come spring. Coated shorts are £10 from River Island.
One of the biggest trends that came out of Fashion Week had to be Bright Pant Suits. Everyone from Gucci to Emporio Armani and Boss featured these energetic work wear staples.
Stores around centre:mk seem to have a plethora of colours for you to choose from too; Hobbs are coming out strong with this incredible fuchsia Jacket and Trousers combo – top left (both £189).
Next have everything from canary yellow jackets (£60) to mint green ensembles (Jacket £60, cropped suit trousers £35) – all of which will take you effortlessly from spring to autumn in style.
