The 3rd staging of the Buckingham Half Marathon takes place this year on Sunday June 9th.
As part of the course, runners will start at the Maids Moreton playing fields and pass through Leckhampstead, Wicken and Akeley before returning to the starting point, following the same route in 2018.
Last year’s event saw a record number of over 400 entrants, with the profit of £8000 going to local charities.
This year, the organisers are supporting The Puzzle Centre in Middle Claydon, and The Winter Night Shelter Milton Keynes, which supports the homeless and vulnerable.
The event is being sponsored by Rainscourt Family Law Solicitors of Milton Keynes, and Buckingham based Lee Therapies, Bates Body Factory, The Energy Effect Fitness Studio and The Gallery Dental Practice.
On top of the sponsors, the event organisers are also indebted to Maids Moreton and Akeley Parish Councils, Buckingham Town Rugby Club, Vitalograph, Buckingham Primary School, Tesco and the BCQ group.
The list may seem long but it is an indication of the way the local community continues to get behind the event.
Entry fees are £24 or £22 for England Athletics affiliated runners, further details and how to enter can be found on the Buckingham & Stowe Running Club website http://www.buckinghamrunningclub.com.
But if you’d like to volunteer in anyway, such as marshalling or helping at the water stations, then please contact the club at firstname.lastname@example.org.
