intu Milton Keynes has handed a cheque for £350 and food items to the Milton Keynes Food Bank.
Over the past few months, staff have been raising money through several activities in their own personal time, including hosting parties and selling unwanted items.
“There is increasing pressure on Food Banks around the country, including our own one in Milton Keynes,” said Shelley Peppard, general manager at intu Milton Keynes.
“By putting on a few simple events, it is amazing to see how much can be raised. This is the start of our support for the MK Food Bank with more initiatives to come in the New Year.”
John Marshall, Manager of the MK Food Bank said: “We were delighted to receive the cheque for £350 to support our work at the Food Bank. At this time of year our two vans are on the road all the time. These funds will cover our fuel costs for several weeks over our busiest period. We are really grateful, thank you to everyone at Intu MK”
