Jon Boyle reviews the award-winning Indian restaurant’s £19.95 festive banquet.
Christmas time, Indian food and wine! That’s my festive motto after trying Maaya Indian Kitchen and Bar’s new Christmas party menu.
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love the usual three-course banquet at Maaya, which has just been named the Best Indian Restaurant in the South East at the prestigious English Curry Awards 2018.
So imagine my excitement when I heard that owner Mo Abdul and his award-winning team had launched a festive variation for just £19.95 per person.
I took along a friend and we enjoyed the appetiser of Poppadoms and Chutneys before moving on to the mouthwatering starter of Tandoori Chicken Tikka, Lamb Sheekh Kebab, Sprouts & Onion Pakora and Vegetable Samosa.
It was like Christmas had come early when the main course arrived – with incredibly tender Chicken Bhuna, Butter Chicken, Laal Maas, Aloo Jeera, Punjabi Chole, Pilau Rice and Garlic & Coriander Naan.
We then enjoyed a succulent cheesecake for dessert to wrap up a fabulous festive feast.
