MKFoodFest set to showcase the best local food and drink

Third annual festival takes place on September 15 in Great Linford.

The MKFoodFest returns to Linford Manor Park this month to showcase the best of the local food and drink scene, writes Hazel Roberts.

Now into its third year, this popular and much-anticipated local food festival takes place on Saturday September 15 from 11am to 5pm.

There will be a selection of hot food vendors, a farmers’ market and a food marquee, offering an array of cuisines, tasters and interesting artisan foods.

The bar area will be open all day, selling beer, cider, spirits, wine and prosecco with hot drinks, milkshakes and icecream on sale, so you can relax and listen to live music as you eat and drink.

Throughout the day there will be a series of demonstrations and talks from chefs and food experts, and visitors can stop by to pick up tips and inspiration.

The MKFoodFest caters for all and is a family-friendly event, with activities specifically aimed at children including apple pressing, storytelling, a flavour school, treasure hunt and taste trail.

The not-for-profit MKFoodFest will once again be supporting the Food Bank so don’t forget to bring a can or two along for the collection boxes.

There will be other food-related local charities and community groups exhibiting on the day, giving the event very much a community feel and allowing visitors to find out more about their work and opportunities.

Everyone loves food and drink and it is even better when it is local – all the stallholders at the MKFoodFest come from within a 20 mile radius of the venue.

With over 70 exhibitors and guest speakers, visitors will be amazed to see the variety of food and drink businesses on offer.

So bring the whole family to this free event and get a taste of the best of Milton Keynes food and drink in this beautiful Parks Trust location.
