Cool Events Column: Do you fancy a fun run?

Sarah Bygrave has picked out her favourite events for September, including an open mic night for musicians, a comedy tour, a fun run and a photography workshop…

The year is flying by and with autumn just around the corner, I have some great events to ease you into the last quarter of 2018. Here are my favourite finds for September…

Sunday the 2nd will see runners, families and fancy dress enthusiasts descend upon Willen Lake for THE BIG FUN RUN.

The 5km run is suitable for absolutely everyone and their motto of ‘no times, no pressure, no sweat’ means anyone can achieve it!

So whether you fancy running for fun, for fitness, for charity or just to enjoy some relaxed exercise, head to willenlake.org.uk for information on registration and I’ll see you down there.

Let your imagination run free at Saracen House Studio’s brand new photography workshop, CLASSIC PIN UP on the 8th of September.

Taking inspiration from the pin up models of the 1950s, you will be involved in the entire shoot, including props, styling, lighting and posing.

But don’t worry, a professional model is there to be your muse – you can stay safely behind the lens!

Find the event on Facebook for further details including equipment you will need to bring along.

MK’s lakeside venue The View is hosting a fantastic OPEN MIC NIGHT every Monday from 8pm. The event is open to all musicians of any genre and ability.

This is the perfect way for audience members to discover some new local talent and unwind on a Monday evening. More information can be found at theviewmk.com.

Finally, enjoy a night of pure comedy gold at the COMEDYMANIA MEGA TOUR.

Comedians from all over the world have joined forces to create this brilliant series of events, with the MK show being held at the Slug & Lettuce on September 21st.

Best of all, if it is your birthday in the week before or after the event, you go for free! Information and tickets are available from comedymania.co.uk.
