August Bank Holiday is upon us and with all this beautiful weather we’ve been having I remain hopeful that we might be in for a sunny long weekend! I’ll be child free this Bank Holiday weekend so I’m spoiled for choice about how to spend the extra time off work and being able to be social after 6pm. I’ve done a round up of what’s on in Milton Keynes and share my guide below for the ultimate MK August Bank Holiday to make your long weekend planning super easy. You’re welcome!

MK11 are kicking off the bank holiday with their Cider & Sausage Festival. They’ll be hosting a huge selection of ciders from local and national suppliers for you to try as well as a ‘banging range of bangers’. With free entry all weekend it would be rude not to. MK11 are also putting on live music and a comedy night on Bank Holiday Monday as if all the sausages and cider you can eat and drink isn’t enough! Opening times are:
Friday 24th August- 16:30-02:00*
Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th & Monday 27th- 12:00-02:00*

The Floating Cinema
The latest thing to dock in MK’s waterways is the Floating Cinema taking up residence on 3 locations along the Grand Union Canal over Summer. The award-winning cinema structure is screening independent films that explore the importance and meaning of home and will be showing 5 films across the Bank Holiday weekend in Campbell Park. Some films are shown on-board for just 20 people and others are shown bankside for 100 viewers. All screenings are free but you will need to pre-book tickets to ensure you get a seat. Timings are as follows:
Friday 24th August- 8pm
Saturday 25th August- 2pm & 8pm. There is also a drop-in session between 11am-12pm to pop in and have a nosey and chat to the team.
Sunday 26th August – 2pm & 7pm

Nonna’s Fest 2018
I have heard nothing but good things about Nonna’s Restaurant in Woburn Sands and have been so desperate to try them out for myself. August Bank Holiday offers the perfect excuse to pay them a visit and check out Nonna’s Fest 2018. They’re opening up the doors on Sunday 26th August and Monday 27th August for their Jazz & House charity weekender with a packed programme of live music, food stalls, bars and family entertainment all in aid of 2 very deserving charities, Willen Hospice & Help Brookin Walk Again. Tickets are £12.50pp in advance (or £15 on the door) and cover entry for both days. Under 16’s are free and VIP tables are also available if you fancy making a special day of it with some friends and family. The festival is running during the following times:
