ReturnMK is a new community organisation formed late last year with the intention of providing community projects for under-privileged/regular young people in the Milton Keynes area.
They provide media based activities such as Music Technology, DJ workshops, Radio Production and Video Production courses. They also provide Dance classes, Cookery lessons and Academic studies. More information about them can be found on their website: http://www.returnmk.org
In June, ReturnMK officially received their first round of funding, which came from the Big Lottery Fund in the form of an Awards for All Grant for the amount of £9990.
This grant has enabled them to source equipment, build studios, pay volunteers expenses and publicise their projects.
ReturnMK Director Jason Lawrence said “We are very grateful for the Big Lottery Fund and the National Lottery players for awarding us this grant which has enabled us to kick-start our project.”
Local MP Mark Lancaster paid ReturnMK a visit at the end of June and endorsed the project. Mr Lancaster was given a tour of the studios, interviewed live on one of the radio stations, and met a few of Return MK’s affiliated charities and sponsors.
