Em In Real Life column: Local vintage online boutique raising money for charity

If you follow my blog you’ll know that I’m making moves to use more eco-friendly products and shop locally more. I have recently made switches to some great natural beauty products, more eco-friendly every day items like reusable make up wipes and am trying to shop vintage more to do my bit to reduce the mass wastage of clothing and textiles.

I’ve been inspired to do this by local vintage online boutique Raindrops & Ribbons. The owner Michelle is so passionate about vintage clothing that you can’t help but be excited by her clothes. With her knowledge of the different eras of vintage clothes and accessories she is amazing at choosing beautiful items that bring a bit of vintage style in to our modern wardrobes.

Michelle hand picks each and every item, carefully washing them, making sure they are in great condition, photographing them for her online store and lovingly packages them to go to their new homes. She is also great at finding specific items that her VIP vintage customers are looking for and writes a blog with hints and tips on finding and wearing vintage.

Vintage Charity Auction

This Sunday 29th July Raindrops & Ribbons is hosting an online fundraiser for charity SANDS, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. This charity was chosen with the help of her online followers to raise vital funds to support families across the UK who have been affected by the death of a baby. Michelle has collected up a great selection of over 50 dresses kindly donated by people and they’ll be auctioned on Sunday with all proceeds going to the charity. If vintage, shopping locally and charity is your thing then you’re not going to want to miss out! You can join in the fun on Facebook here from 6pm, I’ll see you there!
