Top entertainment to look out for at the MK International Festival.
Sarruga: Insectes (Fri July 20, Central Milton Keynes)
A free opening night event. As dusk becomes darkness, witness a parade of giant mechanical insects moving through our streets in a larger-than-life spectacle with music and special effects, writes Nancy Stevens.
Designed by cycle power, follow the parade through the city centre to Campbell Park, culminating in a firework finale.
The Puppini Sisters (July 20, The Spiegeltent, Campbell Park)
It’s back! The Stables Spielgtent (‘mirror tent’) has got to be experienced to be believed and will provide the best in music, comedy and cabaret throughout the 10 days.
Famed for their immaculate Andrews Sisters-style close harmonies, The Puppini Sisters have collaborated with Michael Buble and have five albums under their waist cinching belts!
Casus: Driftwood (July 20-22, The Speigeltent, Campbell Park)
Using traditional and contemporary circus techniques, Driftwood is an exquisitely beautiful and dazzling display of choreography, acrobatics, trapeze and aerial stunts.
For the Birds (July 20-23, July 25-28, Linford Manor Park)
This is a self-guided journey into a historic woodland landscape transformed by bespoke light and sound.
