Jason Day previews the rerelease of a silent film about Lulu, the new Jurassic World movie and more cinema releases in June
Pandora’s Box (out on June 1)
Selected cinemas are rereleasing this dazzling silent drama about Lulu (Louise Brooks), whose sexual precociousness arouses and destroys everyone around her.
Brooks would pay the price for challenging the Hollywood system, but she left us with an unforgettable clutch of performances along the way.

Book Club (June 1)
A top-flight female cast (Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen) star as a group of pals who spice up their private lives by group reading mummy-porn S&M novel Fifty Shades of Gray.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (June 6)
You’d think it was difficult to top the first World film. But, judging by the trailers, this one will thoroughly trample over it. Chris Pratt returns as the dinosaur ‘trainer’ who must help when the beasts from the now abandoned dino theme park cause mayhem in the outside world.
Hereditary (June 15)
Toni Collette is the doll’s house designer whose mother dies. A series of mysterious events then start to happen, centred around Collette’s strange, quiet daughter. Is the grandmother haunting her family? This has enough chills to go down and back up your spine.
Freak Show (June 22)
Sting’s missus Trudie Styler assumes the megaphone duties here. A ‘gender-obliterating’ teen who likes dressing up, starts at a High School in a southern state in the US.
People are hostile, but he is determined to tackle this and become Prom Queen. Alex Lawther is the boy/girl and Bette Midler is shameless as his drink-loving mom.
Ocean’s 8 (22 June)
Another top-line actress led movie (Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway) for this crime caper. Bullock is the recently released convict who teams up with shady Cate Blanchett to rob the Met Gala ball. Or more precisely, the $100m diamond necklace around guest Hathaway’s neck.
