Brand Mission Column: A jewellery masterclass inspired by Harry’s Royal engagement!

Heather Murphy explains how she took her Brand Mission team for a masterclass in traditional jewellery making at The Goldsmithy.

The popularity of creating bespoke jewellery through traditional goldsmithing is on the rise since Prince Harry revealed he followed the Royal tradition by commissioning the making of Meghan’s engagement ring.

We visited a local goldsmiths to understand the stages involved in creating a unique piece of jewellery and have a go at the workbench – an experience Cartier London-trained Glenn Chapman and son, Paul offer to anyone having jewellery made.

Before we took to the bench, The Goldsmithy demonstrated each process a piece of jewellery goes through during its making.

Glenn and Paul patiently taught us some of the traditional techniques used to file, shape and polish metal, which we found a fun and rewarding experience.

Glenn and Paul’s skill and enthusiasm are exceptional and we highly recommend having jewellery made at The Goldsmithy – especially as you get to make your own mark too!

We work with a number of local businesses to increase their awareness through marketing, PR, graphic design and photography.

If you’re looking to grow your company, or need support with a project, we’d love to hear from you!
