Elli Garnett reviews the new luxurious hair salon at Brooklands Farm.
I thought I was just going in for a hair cut and highlights but, as I walked out of Seckingtons after a surprise afternoon of sensory pampering, it felt more like I had been on a luxury spa day.
In addition to my full head of highlights with a cut and finish I received a complimentary hand massage and sensory ritual with natural Aveda products, plus a blow-dry lesson – all of which come as standard with every appointment.
The salon itself is beautifully set up by owner Johnny Seckington, and you have access to hundreds of great products to purchase after.
Stylist Evan had a tough job on her hands with me as my hair was flat, lifeless and full of dark roots, as you can see from the ‘before’ picture.
She talked through the colouring options and asked about my current hair routine, before we settled on a colour.
I was then handed an extensive drinks menu that included tea, coffees, cold drinks and even alcoholic drinks, but I opted for a lovely cup of English tea.
Once my foils were done and I went to the basin, I had a toner added to keep my blondes ‘ashy’ rather than yellow.
I then had a luxury Damage Remedy treatment applied for 15 minutes. While this treatment was working its magic, it was time for the complimentary hand massage with Aveda oils, which was the perfect way to relax.
I then received an aroma therapy ritual that involved a choice of oils being massaged into my scalp. I opted for Aveda Cooling Oil which felt so refreshing and smelt amazing.
After these treatments, I moved back to my chair for a cut and finish.
Evan styled my soft, fresh hair curly and I left looking like a new woman.
