Wiki Places for Kids column: Laughter with the lambs

Susie Lodge from wikiplacesforkids.com has picked out some brilliant spring days out for the whole family to enjoy and some indoor ideas just in case the weather isn’t up to scratch…

Springalingaling! It’s here (I hope?), I’m pretty sure I announced the arrival of spring last month but we all know how that turned out, HA!

So, here’s hoping you can make the most of the following suggestions from my incredible Wiki List and a few others chucked in too throughout April.

Make sure you get yourself along to one of the fab open farms in our local area this month as most are running their lambing events throughout April.

It’s an awesome opportunity to experience lambs up close, and to bottle feed them in many cases too. Thrift Farm, Mead, Green Dragon and Rookery are all amazing with a great schedule of activities.

MK Gallery is known for its endless programme of brilliant activities, encouraging creativity and imagination to flourish in our little ones, so if you missed the big Easter Party in March, then they have Start the Art and Saturday Studio weekly for the preschoolers.

National Trust properties pull out all the stops during the holidays with a fabulous line up of activities for kids of all ages, and something for the whole family who can enjoy the stunning houses and gardens, an egg hunt, adventure playgrounds and large open spaces to picnic and relax.

See all the great National Trust venues recommended on wikiplacesforkids.com!

If the weather turns to April Showers (drip drip drop!), don’t worry, turn to the site for a HUGE list of brilliant indoor ideas – Laser Planet, Planet Ice, Indoor climbing, Xscape, Softplay, Oasis Swimming… it goes on!

And for low cost ideas to keep you busy when the holidays and the funds are gone, take yourself and a kite to Dunstable Downs, blow out the cobwebs at Salcey Forest or hunt dinosaur remains at Irchester Country Park.

There are so many options all recommended by parents so there’s no need to panic this April.

Don’t miss out on anything, join my group on Facebook and make sure you find out about what’s on near us from those that know best – parents! Happy April x
