A Milton Keynes actress/businesswoman has been chosen to represent England in the Mrs World beauty pageant in South Africa in December.
Ex Brookside TV star Ann Marie Davies – who is married to former MK Dons manager Karl Robinson – has been selected by the director of Mrs World to compete at the prestigious event in Johannesburg.
And Ann, who owns The Dress Empire shop in Fenny Stratford, is excited about the competition ahead after The Tanning Shop stepped in to sponsor her.
Ann said: “I am delighted to have this opportunity and I cannot thank my sponsor The Tanning Shop enough, whose kind sponsorship has made this happen.
“It is a dream come true and I’m overwhelmed by the support that this company has given me and honoured to be their brand ambassador here in Milton Keynes.
“We will be working closely over the next few months and I’m hoping to bring the title of Mrs World back to MK.”
Ann is no stranger to beauty pageants, having represented the UK in Mrs Universe and won Mrs British Empire, Miss Merseyside, Miss Manchester and Miss Wirral Globe before moving down from Liverpool with Karl, who is now manager of Charlton Athletic.
A spokeswoman for The Tanning Shop – which has just opened a second branch in MK at The Theatre District – has backed Ann to shine as Mrs England in South Africa.
She said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Ann Marie as she competes for Mrs World and we are also excited to celebrate the opening of our second store in MK!”
