House to Home column, by Becky Pink.
I’ve been promising a reveal of our new kitchen for the past few issues, but it’s still not quite finished!
I underestimated the disruption it has caused, and the house has been covered in dust for over a month now.
We are getting there, and the pale grey units and mid grey worktops are fitted, and we’ve painted the walls white.
To soften the scheme, we have painted one wall, and the insides of the window frames in Pantone’s Petal Pink paint.
Because it’s not quite finished, I am consoling myself with shopping for accessories.
I chose small hexagon tiles for our hob splashback, (we still need to repaint the triangles of the wall to the left of the tiles).
I am scouring Milton Keynes for hexagonal, grey and blush pink accessories, and was so pleased to discover this lovely pot of succulents from IKEA for £8.50 (pictured below).
I picked up the cute little jug from Southwood Stores in Swanbourne, not far from Whaddon, for £4.99.
I’ve just visited their online shop southwoodstores.co.uk and they sell it in blush pink too… a small shopping trip may be in order!
Sainsbury’s have lots of nice accessories at the moment, and I got this hexagon tea light holder there, though I chose to fill it with pretty pink flowers from our garden.
The ampersand ornament is from Sainsbury’s too, where I also bought a little set of hooks (pictured below).
I found a gold hexagon mirror in Marks and Spencer (£19.99), and it hangs over our dining table (pictured below).
I really hope that I’ll be able to show you more than just teasers of our kitchen for the next issue!
In the meantime, if you spot any hexagon accessories, or bits and bobs in blush pink or grey, please tweet me @pinkscharming so I can investigate!
