Ken pledges to help more MK causes after McDonald’s takeover

McDonald’s restaurants in Midsummer Arcade and Kingston have been acquired by Kaizen Restaurants Ltd, writes Jessica Duncan.

Kaizen Restaurants already operates the McDonald’s at Xscape, Westcroft, Great Brickhill and they are run by Ken Tomkins, who has been a proud franchisee for McDonald’s in MK for over five years.

As a result, Ken (pictured below) will expand his group to around 500 employees.

The takeover will officially go through on March 19 and even though customers will not notice any difference, Ken hopes his staff will continue to take pride in their roles and strive to give even better service to customers.

He said: “With the addition of these two restaurants it takes the group up to around 500 employees, which is a big step for me and the teams, with a big scale of responsibility.

“We look forward to proudly serving our valued customers in both these locations, as well as meeting our neighbours and building relationships with them for the long term within the community.

“In the year in which Milton Keynes celebrates its 50th birthday, as a locally owned business, we are doubly proud to announce this news.”

Ken added that as a group they are always recruiting, with many opportunities for people to progress their careers.

“My key messages are for people to take pride in their job and respect both their customers and colleagues.

“We will continue to contribute to the community as a local business and amplify our message to do more for local causes.”
